Scarring and Lasting Player Model Damage

I propose that when your player takes damage it shows up after some time via scars on the player model. Gun shot wounds would leave little round scars and zombies and melee weapons would leave generic slash type scars. You would be able to tell if a player has been alive for a while or if they had been shot. Another feature would be perhaps limps that would last for a up to 6 hours after being shot. A limp might decrease speed slightly or decrease stamina or just be aesthetic and cause the player to grunt every now and then. This is sort of a useless addition to the game but would look cool and increase precious immersion levels.

Search for Gamescom Demo from 2017 and watch it, there are scars and growing beards in the game - just not in the current build.
