Red dot sights not working?

Hello Peoples :D

Got a question about the Red dot sight (Combat sight). 

I found one and put a battery in it, holding the sight in my hand and looking trough it shows me the red dot, so i think its fine. But if i put the sights on my M4 or the USG (UMP), the red dot doesn't show anymore? Is that a bug or do i have to turn it on somehow? :P
