domiii 1 Posted October 21, 2018 hey all, After Dayz is released, the number of players will be spread across many different mods. If you really want to make Dayz a giant hit, I have a good idea. Offers the modders to integrate the best and highest quality mods into the main game. This holds the player base together, many game magazines should report positively about such a process, new players and modders become interested. Many advantages can be found. Provide the modders with quality criteria and routines that simplify their input. Even if you only support this process for one year, the result will be a game that exceeds all our expectations. Thousands of brains simply perform more than a few hundred. For many modders, the prospect of seeing their works in a main game and perhaps finding a mention in the credits is motivation enough. Really think about it - if something like this works it would be a small revolution in the gaming industry and no game is better suited for it than DayZ! Mantasisg 172 Posted October 21, 2018 (edited) I think DayZ by default is about to become great rather soon. At least judging by how things have been evolving lately, and how game plays right now. But DayZ players has always been spread across many different servers anyway. There are some examples where mods makes way into official game content. Like for example Kunos with Assetto Corsa, later when they had enough content they just said goodbye to modders. Thats for various reasons, enough content and distraction modding created and so on... Perhaps there will be few mods which will/would fit to vanilla DayZ, who knows... DayZ SA itself is a mod which actually become a full game. Perhaps you suggest that there might be a mod to DayZ SA which would become a standalone game too, DayZ SA^2 ? :D I don't really get how players being spread in number of different mods would be bad. As long as there will be some highly populated servers for each type of gameplay it will not make that much difference. And I have no doubt that vanilla DayZ will be dominating anyway. Hopefully player base will increase with increasing amount of choices. Edited October 21, 2018 by Mantasisg
