If you log out of servers you lose all your inventory with the exception of items on your back and your clothing and backpack

me too bro after avoiding wolves and a whorde of hissers Idied really suddenly and I had a whole lot of good kit and in a great place to look in my backpack to see EVERYTHING gone. So hsd no way to survive and perished. I was having the best game too. 

Maybe it has something to do with all the servers going down because I lost my items at about the same time you did.
