Dajenpool 8 Posted September 2, 2018 I think they should add the Friend feature from SCUM where you can add someone and see their name towards their location when you separate and also the ability to spawn in on friends

DayZ is going for more of a realism style. In good time you and your friends will learn the map like the back of your hand.
M00nfly 30 Posted September 3, 2018 I dont agree with this at all. I prefer having to work for everything, which is kind of the point in DayZ. You should be able to work in game to acquire this ability though, like you both have to find a radio, own a compass, and own a map, and then be able to use the radio in hand to guide you. Once you have a radio, you should hear static unless your're on the same channel as someone else, so you can choose a channel with friends (but this can be eaves dropped if someone else with a radio is on the same channel). The audio should be clearest if youre facing directly at the other person on the radio, and have static if not. If you also own a compass, combine it with the radio and a compass overlay should appear when the combined item is in hand.
DarthFLEX 6 Posted September 3, 2018 At first I thought the same thing, until I finally found my friend after running around lost for a couple of hours and both of us being on opposite ends of the east coast. The feeling of relief and joy when we the terrifying solo journey was finally over and we knew our chances of surviving would be increased now was awesome. We immediately started laughing and celebrating when we saw each other running towards one another on the train tracks. I have also made a few friends just by using the proximity chat and being kind to them. I like the way it is now, it forces players to interact with others as opposed to locking themselves away behind party chat all the time (like in every other online game where no one uses local chat anymore).
