Blocking not working for me

New to DayZ.  Have watched gameplay and understood blocking was to raise fists (spacebar) and back up (s) to engage.

Am I just not getting it or is there a keybind I must set up?

First, you don't raise your fists with spacebar, but with RMB. Then just go backwards, it works on the new version of the game (Experimental/Stress test). After that "spacebar" I assume you have 0.62 installed on your device, correct?

Yes I figured out Stream installed .62 and am almost done DLing now....ty
