NY7 Hacked / All Inventory Lost + Now have Horn?

Recommended Posts

15 Minutes ago myself and 4 friends were playing on NY7 when all of a sudden, we lost all of our inventory (all items both in primary and secondary slots including weapons). This was replaced with a "Horn" that sounds when clicking the left mouse button. It is able to be turned off and back on again by hitting 'F'. Although our immediate inventories were cleared, we still had our backpacks, and all the items in them.

In addition, one of my friends was in Electro, and he said that airplanes were raining down from the skies, crashing into the city. The server was almost full with close to 50 players, and was without a doubt an ideal place to prank a large group of players.

We changed servers twice, only to find that we still have our horn. So my question is: what can be done about this? A friend heard that people are getting banned from servers for having illegal items, and although the horn isn't something that is removable from the inventory, will having this horn be worthy of punishment in a server admin's eyes? Is there anyway to remove this item without killing our characters? Is this permanent?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is a serious issue. If all of my friends who were in the server at the exact same time have the same issue, then that must mean the other 45 people in the server at the time have this issue. Hundreds of items were lost... and replaced with a frickin' HORN.

Yes I was on during this time. Not gunna lie i was laughing my ass off during the entire thing. What can i do about this.... basically nothing. Ill check my logs but there is like a 95% chance that nothing will happen. Welcome to the new DayZ. A game ruled by hackers.

until the next banwave :)

From what i heard in the admin channels, BIS are working on a script whitelist feature, which would stop this dead in its tracks.

the only things that can be done after this is implemented are client side hacks like aimbot/wallhack.

The best way to stop hackers would get DayZ Coders to create there own master server, have all servers listed on that master server this would also be easier to manage and blacklist also a new anti-cheat system. Battle-Eye is terrible.

DayZ is run off a master server, doing exactly what you just said.

An Anti-Cheat system would take quite a while to make, it's easier to just blacklist the scripts(Extremely easy to find).

No they don't run off a master server. They have a master database for @Hive but not a master server that lists/registers servers.
