DeadFury222 0 Posted July 4, 2012 So whenever I start DayZ,my computer resets before getting to the menu screen.Game actually launches, loads, but before menu screen my computer restarts,no error,no nothing! My specs:AMD Athlon XP 2200+ 1.8Ghz1.5GB RAMNVIDIA GeForce 6200 512MB
boneboys 7988 Posted July 4, 2012 You might be able to run the game but I doubt that you can play with that config.Did you try to start ArmA2 vanilla ?
DeadFury222 0 Posted July 4, 2012 Yeah, intro starts, but the same! Before manu appears,my comp. restarts!:/
species5021 28 Posted July 4, 2012 How did you install DayZ? If you did it manually there is a whole lot that could result in a strange error like you are having. Use Sixupdater if you haven't already.Could also be outdated files, try getting all the service packs for windows. Updating Direct X, get the newest graphics driver for you graphics card.Let me know how it works out.
DeadFury222 0 Posted July 4, 2012 All drivers are up-to-date besides my Nvidia one because If I update it,I can only see my desktop in 4 bits(AWFULL!!!). I have lastest driver for win. xp nvidia(last that works ^_^).When my game starts,I have no display problem, everything looks good!:)Didn't install manually, did it with six.Btw,this happens to normal ArmA II and ArmA II OA,so nothing to do with dayz I guess!:)
shiromikan 217 Posted July 4, 2012 Record the last temp of the CPU and GPU just before it reset/reboot. Prime95. Post results, please. Also, don't bump a thread if it's not on the 2nd page.edit; It's possible the game is driving the GPU (or CPU) to heat up in very short period. Similar to the STARTCRAFT GPU over heating issue. This is just a speculation.
DeadFury222 0 Posted July 4, 2012 So I just donwload Prime95,run it and start DayZ?
shiromikan 217 Posted July 4, 2012 No, sorry. Prime95 is a stress-testing software. It makes your CPU and GPU work really hard so you can see how it performs and how hot it gets.Get RealTemp or OpenHardwareMonitor, run Prime95 for a while and record temperatures. If your PC powers off during this, record the last temp you read.I just think your computer might be overheating and powering down to protect itself.EDIT: Another hunch I have is that your PSU (power supply) is shit and is either under-powering your hardware or having voltage ripples (random bursts of voltage). What is your PSU model?
DeadFury222 0 Posted July 4, 2012 RealTemp doesn't work for me.My processor is not suported by it.OHM displays only using of CPU,not it's temp. (only motherboard's temp. with is 35,does not drop, does not rises)Left Prime95 to run for like 10 mins and nothing happened(comp. got very laggy:P).My PSU: REXPOWER PX-400 220 W. shiromikan 217 Posted July 4, 2012 The point of Prime95 is to max out your computer's resources to observe temperatures. xDI'm thinking that you don't have enough power to run your GPU.Anyway, 220W is a very low amount for a computer these days. I heavily recommend getting anew PSU. Wouldn't hurt to upgrade your proc. as well.

DeadFury222 0 Posted July 4, 2012 I'm buying that with parts bro, just ~400. I assemble them. If I would buy it(all pre-made) it would be ~ 700?
shiromikan 217 Posted July 4, 2012 Probably. If you're buying the parts, get 8gb of ram. I'd say get this or this for a proc. This is a better GPU for the same price range. Also, inb4 these products aren't available in whichever country you reside in.
