problems with my dayz

im having problems with my dayz mod that i was hoping someone could help me with

first: i cant use the hatchet-i looked up how to use it but it doesnt actually work i cant right click it or anything

second: the ear and eye icons dont actually show how loud or seeable i am-i never get any bars on either of them

third: (this might just be me being a newb)- occasionally when i log back into a server i dont have the items i log out with such as a gun i had equipped or a map i had equipped

any help with these problems is appreciated!

I also seem to never run out of hunger no matter how far i run

Another problem is that as far as i can gather-im supposed to log back in where i logged out- but whenever i log in im at thespawn which is really frustrating after travelling large distances

i have the exact same problem and i cant actually see myself in 3rd person view either.

it is rather frustrating due to i can't use petrol or a hatchet.

as great as it is that zombies dont see me (i think in relation to not seeing myself) and not having to eat and drink but it defeats the purpose of the game

Try the INSTALLATION section of that post. I think the most common problem is that you have to install a beta patch now, for ARMAII. Then you have to make sure you are running the patched version.

On my system, when everything is running right, under the top right icon for ARMAII I have expansions listed for:

- arma 2

- dayz

- beta

- Expansion

Obviously I can't verify it, but if you are missing any of those, my guess is the game won't work right.

You may need to install the beta before install the DayZ mod files, but I honestly don't see how that would cause problems.

Latest beta, played on a server that requires the same, is the way to play.

I do it all the time and have never had any problems apart from those that are known gliches/bugs.

Maybe I'm just lucky but its the truth.
