Huckle 0 Posted July 3, 2012 As the title says, I noticed that when it's raining the location of zombies is revealed, it shows them by having a water droplet thing on them (picture a wet camera, the little water droplets that you see are what i'm talking about) It shows these water droplets through buildings as well. batmanasb 2 Posted July 8, 2012 That happens to me too on random servers, but I don't think it is because of the rain. It either happens as soon as I join or not at all. The dots cover every living creature (players, animals, zombies) and get smaller the closer I get to them. This makes it easy to find players because they are the fastest moving dots, and swarms of zombies chasing a player are impossible to miss. My friend had the same exact issue when we joined a server together, so it might be an problem with the some servers, or something to do with 4xxx series (2 4890s and 4870x2) AMD graphics cards. This plus a sniper is a scary combination, this could also be used as a wall hack to raid buildings defended by players. Changing servers fixed it for me, although I should have tried to rejoin the same server for debug purposes... sorry. Had the newest beta and dayz files (94364 and 1.7.1.5)
dekciW 0 Posted July 8, 2012 Its not a bug its a feature in ARMA 2, has nothing to do with dayz.
Badjr 44 Posted July 8, 2012 Fairly certain you were on a Recruit level server
Comcastle 12 Posted July 8, 2012 If your talking about the white dots/blobs that appear at the side of the screen, then yes, this is a feature of ARMA and not a bug. They notify you of things that are near you, players, zeds, animals and vehicles. They change in size and brightness depending on how close or far away from you they are.
Comcastle 12 Posted July 8, 2012 Ah, I see what you mean now OP, I just came off a server that had the rain SFX but no actual rain GFX, but every zed and animal all around me had a white blob on them, just like what appears at the side of the screen. This was showing me all creatures in my vicinity, regardless of LoS.
Evito 4 Posted July 9, 2012 The white blobs are supposed to represent peripheral vision and hearing movement, difficulty setting of the server affects how easily these can be utilized unless im sadly mistaken.
