melbo 3 Posted May 15, 2012 DayZ to be included in the next ARMA pacth - they also say that in order to get DayZ into ARMA 3 that would require a years work after ARMA 3 has launched and that DayZ has increased arma sales fivefold.http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=16786
Kophka 109 Posted May 15, 2012 So all the stuff that Rocket is struggling with because of engine limitations MIGHT be fixed when that patch comes out. Huzzah!

bigvalco 0 Posted May 15, 2012 Not exactly sure what they mean by including DayZ in the next patch for Arma 2. Would anyone mind spelling it out for me?

Kophka 109 Posted May 15, 2012 Not exactly sure what they mean by including DayZ in the next patch for Arma 2. Would anyone mind spelling it out for me?the main point is ""We're more than happy to assist DayZ in any suitable way and considering the mod's popularity we are committed to do some related work in the next Arma 2 update (1.61).""What that means is that Rocket can go to the BI devs and say "hey guys, this little thing right here is keeping this from working the way I need it to" and they can work on it to accommodate him. I think. So maybe (@Rocket !!) they can fix the pathfinding issue that's making Rocket's zombies look like slot cars the way they zig and zag.
Kolchak (DayZ) 5 Posted May 16, 2012 Sweet holy jeebus, congrats again Rocket, you just might be able to parley this into something you get paid for.... if they don't end up stealing the idea and making a copy.
tyler_1111@hotmail.com 0 Posted May 16, 2012 its only a matter of time before corporations jump over the idea and claim the idea as first and make a shit ton of money. im looking at ea and activision.... they steal ideas and drives genre to the ground...kinda sadremember before cod we see all sorts of shooters? now most try to just copy cod and hope to make it big not realizing they will never beat the so called "origional"

naizarak 41 Posted May 16, 2012 interesting points. so basically dayz won't be readily available for arma 3, and the devs have enough confidence to create a fully standalone title from the mod as well.
korten 2 Posted May 16, 2012 You guys do realise he works for them? Right?
