Microphone does not work in DayZ

Hi, my microphone does not work in DayZ. It functions just fine anywhere else but DayZ. I have tried a few things but they did not resolve the problem, such as - setting my mic as the default communication device, turning up my mic volume all the way to max.

I am within the range (literally next to the person) the mic icon shows up but nothing.

I  have an integrated microphone but I don't see it being an issue as it works everywhere else perfectly fine.

Any help is appreciated.

It might be steam that is acting up. Go in steam settings and activate the mic there

Steam mic is also set, forgot to mention..
