Global Maintenance and Server Reset

I am confused on the way  Wednesday global maintenance affects server wipes on persistent servers. I play on fragnet hosted persistent servers. I had a camp with a couple tents set up for the past 3 weeks, Surviving at least 3 Wednesdays. But I have come back to find this Wednesday it has been completely wiped... On the dayz twitter it said maintenance had happened the past Wednesdays as well but no wipe to my gear then. I saw a message though in game yesterday that I don't think I have gotten the past weeks, saying this maintenance would wipe the server or something along that line.. So I guess I'm wondering is there times it does wipe the server threw maintenance and some times it dosnt? and is there a way to know for sure besides maybe catching that message while playing.

To my knowledge they only do wipes now with major updates or when they kill a duping bug and want to get rid of duped items.
