I went to bed but couldnt sleep because of what i had done. (Story inside)

Recommended Posts

Wellllllll as the title says I literally couldnt sleep one night due to this game!

I have been playing it for a while now, surviving to eventually be killed by someone hit by the 'paranoia' we all get hit with.

So I spawned in cherno and found a hatchet and due to not having much to lose I was running around trying to find people to loot as I thought 'Thats it no more trust im going to kill on sight.' I found someone just on the outskirts of Cherno crouching with a hatchet too so I thought as a bit of fun i'll go kill him and then i'll have a taste for it.

Anyway he stood up as soon as he saw me and started sprinting towards the hills/trees, little did i know he was running towards a friend on vent/mumble and i spotted him looking at me with binocs and then changing to a lee enfield, he was screaming over mic asking if I was friendly, at this point I had a zombie chasing me, I told him I just wanted him to kill the zombie. He did. I told him I had blood bags and as payment I would give him a blood transfusion, he complied and even offered me food for it, when I was behind him I murdered him with the hatchet and then his friend who turned out to have a pistol, he shot me and broke my leg, because I was laid down he thought I was dead. SOOOOOOOO I killed him too, bandaged up and then repaired my broken bone and have lived ever since.

I just want to say IM SORRY and I seriously dont know how you bandits do it, specially if you earn trust then murder them! Dont get me wrong I love the fact there are bandits out there as I dont think this game would be as good without them.

This game is clearly outstanding if it can make someone feel morally wrong, has anyone else had this experience? If so Rocket&team, you've done a fantastic job lads, well done.

Sorry for rambling, this confession means I can sleep now.

Don't worry someone/something will kill you too eventually. Purgatory and all that :D

But good thing you repent though. I'd imagine killing randomly, especially unarmed people, would get boring pretty quick. It's like boasting "lol I killed a hedgehog and shot a bird in the yard 1337 yo" :D

eventually that feeling of guilt will go away.

what you did was actually called a "set up"

like, when your walkin home from work, and you pass an ally, and you hear someone scream ahhh help me, and its a girl so you run down the ally only to find out shes not being raped or murdered, you are.

i grew up on the streets m8, you do what you have to do to survive, anyone who says there different is full of shit.

now ill tell you when you should feel bad. feel bad when you befriend someone for several hours, days or weeks, then betray them. thats what you call a traitor, or in some circles a spy. its lower than low on the scum scale, not only that, but people like that can never be trusted, even by there own group/squad, there sell outs, or what the streets would call a one time use.

personally i think if there dumb enough to let you get to melee range they deserve what they get. only trust friends you know in real life, or from other games you know you can trust.

theres a reason my handle is KOS, cause if you dont I WILL!

Absolutely no compassion for people. I did feel 'bad' the first couple times. But really, no, sorry its just easier if you're dead.

Yeah I love the way DayZ makes you 'feel' something. Whether it be after killing or being killed. No other game does that.

Sounds to me like the guys that let you get close were pretty naive.

"Hey, this guy running at me with a hatchet, are you friendly?"

"Hey' date=' this guy running at me with a hatchet, are you friendly?"

[/quote']

I was raiding the barracks when a guy came in and yelled "Are you friendly?" I replied "Holy shit you scared me" and he ran right up next to me, looked down and started looting.

Of course, I shot him in the head and took his medical supplies.

It seems every encounter with another player sets my heart beating like crazy. You never know if they are going to try and stab you in the back. If you are armed, I will not hesitate to dispatch you.

If he had no gun, I probably would have let him live.

I have to admit, I killed someone purely because I was greedy and it was going to make my day a lot easier. My friend encountered a friendly player who gave him a transfusion and a morphine injector. I knew he had more of both and I didn't want to travel to a hospital, so I met up with my friend and killed his new acquaintance... I felt a bit guilty, but whatever, I benefited from it.

I have shot probably 5 survivors to save myself now. Every time I see another survivor, my heart beats like crazy.

No other FPS is like this one.

How did he do the right thing to survive when the only way he survived was the 2 guys he killed? Sounds like someone can't survive on his own, and needs the loot of others who scavenged to live... Otherwise, he can't find anything but a hatchet.

Doesn't sound right to me.

hmmmm think this has been taken the totally wrong way by you evox, its not that I cannot scavange, ive had an M4A1 CCO with full ammo and other things, it was just a case of I wanted to know what it felt like and now Im sharing my experience. Not saying I cannot survive on my own and I have to kill.

Chill out.
