CompleteReason (DayZ) 0 Posted September 25, 2015 Hey guys and girls! Today i'm here because i'm in the planning stages of an exciting(atleast for me) server community project that is based around realistic survival, roleplay/player interaction. I'm wanting to collect early feedback from the core demographic i've listed in the title to make it start off on the right foot from the start! So opening question What could we do to make it your dream DayZ server? This can be anything from suggesting CURRENT in-game server mechanics like Server Point of Views, Restarts(if you want 12/24 whatever the typical max will be), accelerated time, ect. Even this is confirmed cause it's something I personally love havens/player camps around the map for survivors to meet, trade, ect. I'd love to hear any and all feedback! Thank you guys have a great day!
Funkmaster Rick 373 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) I've played on a couple of servers like that before. Fair warning: if they don't die from boredom, they die from inter-group OoC drama, so plan for that and do what you can to avoid them both. I might even check it out when it's up. I highly recommend the following:Private Hive1ppMaximum player countSome night The amount of night you want depends on your playerbase. I recommend four hours per day as a fairly average starting point. Also, I think you're allowed to toggle hip-fire crosshairs on and off. Everyone has their preference, but I don't think it'll really impact player recruitment and retention either way. Irish. 4886 Posted September 25, 2015 Yeah I did some RP the other day.. I was an EMT that was on duty when the outbreak happened. But I had to "end it all" when a player walked through a wall and then the player next to him had his legs disappear. My character just couldn't handle that..

I'd like to do the best job possible with keeping boredom as little a possibility as possible. We'll try our best to police it, and make sure that most conflicts within the game/forums are within character. Private Hive is almost guaranteed for this, as I want to be able to have my own separate hive for when we actually can host hives instead of only shards. 1st Person seems to be highly suggested, most likely will be and if possible for those who want 1/3rd could get one server up for them, but mostly I agree that I want it first person. Max player count is guaranteed as well, if I remember correctly 100 is supposed to be the borderline for players the devs want. As for the night cycle like I said in the OP depending on where server restarts land(I believe they're going for a full 24 hours) then we'll accelerate it accordingly. most likely 3 day/night cycles spanned acrossed the 24 hour server up-time. As for the cross hairs is that currently an option with shards? I don't believe i've played on a server without yet, I personally would like to try with no cross-hair but that'll be adjusted to the communities liking! Thank you again for the feedback sir! Have some beans!

I was on the /r/DayZUnderground server the other day, was in Cherno and met 2 other survivors, a doctor who got a cold. We tried to nurse the doctor back to health in Cherno, a few randoms came in tried killing us, including one who ran in cut up a man ate his meat, we have to knock him out and tie him up trying to nurse him back to health and get him on the right path back to success. Then two randoms with a shotgun and AK came in and killed us all for no reason :/ That kind of KOS is the one I don't want on the server, I want KOS on this server but only if it makes sense within the world(ex. you are the sniper of your team, laid back watching your team interact with another group, and you see them have a sniper/watcher with a gun ready to fire at your team you could take them out. If they try to harm you, KOS is fine. If you just do it to someone being friendly and nice that's how i'd see kicks and bans ever being given out for it.
