Sunny VS Overcast

Recommended Posts

Not sure if I'm throwing this in the correct area or not, but I just had a quick question for everyone who actually takes a look at this.

I often play Day Z in the same room with my mate on a laptop, I've noticed a slight difference in our lighting effects and havent been able to find anything specific on it so far on the interwebs.

Basically I notice that on my screen, the world appears generally over cast and sorta dull like a general cloudy day ( not really a problem, sorta fits the mood)

However on my friends PC it actually appears to be relatively sunny, we can be on the same server standing right next to each other and it looks like two different places.

I've messed with settings a fair bit and couldnt get the right result.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so, if and what a possible solution could be.

Cheers

Also worth mentioning that I'm running a pretty powerfull laptop so I don't think it has to do with processing abilities, though I don't run on full as it can get a little stressed depending on what's happening

Interesting.

I'm going to move this to Troubleshooting just to see what kind of reaction it receives.

Some have noted a time desync (watches).

Lets see...

I've heard of this before. Are the weather conditions actually different for the two of you, when standing next to each other? Is your sky cloudy, and his clear?

I've noticed that when i've been connected to a server for a while, time seems to move faster for me than what the actual server time is. If I reconnect, the time my watch displays will jump back quite a bit. There have been times I've been on a server for a while and it gets dark. If I reconnect, it's not even dusk yet.

sometimes it is, but alot of the time his sky is exactly the same as mine. I kinda assumed it might just be different weather for every player but it looks the same, he just has a more sunny tint to it and mines sorta washed out, both at full blood too.
