Information about the persistence. 0.58

Recommended Posts

I don't have so much information about persistence (0.58).

- How long remains a tent on the ground?
- How long remains a backpack on the floor?
- How long remains an object on the ground? A gun for example.

Thanks you.

what you cant learn there:

Pro tip here: nothing related to persistence works quite as intended, and it may also vary server-to-server.  You can never "know" but that which you can verify for yourself.

I just spent around 18 hours over this last week verifying that there are likely no more available trucks on my chosen official public server; but backpack stashes are persisting longer than the proscribed three days, so I got that goin for me.

Juuuuussst to be nice, I'll say it should be 45 days (this patch only) for barrels and tents, and 3 days for bags. Anything else is left for the bugs to eat when they see fit.

Or if you prefer, you can confer with the Horse's Mouth.

Results can be brutal!  Be wary of similar public server hosts, those that host groups of severs are likely to configure them the same, often resulting in similar behavior.  I logged in this morning to find my significant OCD stash missing, across three servers.  Locations were broadly spread out and too many of them for anything but the bite of persistence variability.  On my fourth favorite server, items have remained for well over a week, which btw I was forced to check after my wtf moment on the others.
