Red and Yellow Chains?

I was wondering what those error chains mean exactly.

I've seen a red one, a solid yellow, and a broken yellow one. What do they mean exactly?

Don't go into combat when your chain is red, if you can help it.

Yellow Chain > Little desync going between you and the server

Red Chain > High desync going between you and the server

Same colors but with broken chains mean that you are regaining sync with the server

Actually I have heard yellow can be worse then red.

Red = Disconnected from Hive server

Yellow = Unknown data is being received from the server

Either way, when you see the icons engage in enemies you can see but don't wander too far.
