Torch BUG

Recommended Posts

Hah! I noticed that too!

I kind of like the effect, smoke subtly billowing from your guy, like a sign that you're some unearthly creature.

But it brings up several questions:

If you try to put a lit fireplace in your backpack or clothing, you'll catch on fire. So, why doesn't that happen when you put a torch in your inventory?

And if it's in your backpack and you can see the smoke coming out, then does that mean that items are literally in your actual backpack? As in, on your in-game character?
That might make some sense.

Wobo, the YouTube guy who does tests in DayZ to figure out stuff like penetration and temperature, and is the one who discovered spine damage before the developer removed it recently, discovered that items in your backpack that are on the higher slots get damaged first, before the items in the lower slots.
I always thought it was a calculation thingy when it came to that, but are items actually "physically" stored, and maybe have an actual live presence in the game environment, instead of just disappearing?

I dunno, I'm don't actually know how technical aspects like that work.
It might explain how duping works right now.

[i'm not going to explain the simple basic duping method I learned to anyone that isn't already aware of it because I don't want to encourage or enable someone. I don't dupe, and it actually goes against one of the parts I like most about DayZ: Scavenging and finding my OWN loot. (the harder it is to find, the more satisfied I feel actually finding something)
Some random player late last month showed me how to dupe with a bloodbag. But, I refuse to start duping myself]
