"Could not find ARMA 2"

I try to join a server via DayZ Launcher (the community one, not official I believe), and I am greeted with "Could not find ARMA 2, Please make sure the path is correct in the App settings"

wat do? I've been itching to play more of the mod for ages, but it's being blocked off by this :C

This is a problem with Steam not recognizing your install as far as I can remember. Never had it before, though.

 

Try relaunching Steam as an Administrator and verify your installs.

Start arma 2 and after the main menu pulls up, exit the game. Retry joining dayz.

Well, SFRG's suggestion worked. However, if I try to join an epoch/overpoch server, it gives me this message:

"Data file too short 'C:/Program Files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead/@DayZ_Epoch1051/addons/dayz_weapons.pbo Expected 37420111 B got 33097465 B"

I have no clue what this problem means, but I can only play the Vanilla or modded versions of vanilla (custom buildings, enhanced spawns etc., nothing major like Overpoch or Epoch.)

The weapons pack for your epoch mod looks corrupted. Re-download it.

Truth be told, I'm not fond of overpoch or epoch, I just want to play on a server that isn't dead empty.

I tried joining that, and all I got was "Wait for host"

Hell, every server I tried to join was just a "wait for host" server. Iunno what's up.
