Dead_Zeppelin 0 Posted July 23, 2015 Hey there,I just installed Steam with Wine on my Arch Linux. I decided I would try to get DayZ working. It installed fine, but when attempting the first launch, it starts to install the "Microsoft VC Redist Package (step 1 of 4)" and I get a wine pop-up message saying:The program Setup.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are for the inconvenience. This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check the Application Database for tips about running this application. If I click cancel on each of the four steps I get a command prompt window with the title "E:\SteamLIbrary\steamapps\common\DayZ_BE.exe" with just a flashing underscore in it.Any ideas how to get the game launched? It should work: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=29534&iTestingId=82084&bShowAll=trueThanks

Dead_Zeppelin 0 Posted July 23, 2015 Hardly. Last test as far as I can see a year ago and states, that it can't be launched. That was not for Arch Linux. In the Arch Linux test, it can be launched, along with several other tests. And the way I see it, chances should've improved to launch the game in the last year or so.
