CR 527 SNIPER VIABILITY

i killed sniper in kamy with my aks 74u and he had a cr 527 with a  bunch of ammo and a clip. he didn't hit me once. is it a viable pvp sniper? i test fired it and am not fond of the sound and the animations. it had a 2 out of 3 hit chance from me at 200 meters and 300 meters on the zombies i shot. that could be because i hardly ever use a scope. how many shots to kill a full geared player?

 

also which is better for cqb: mp5 or aks 74u?

yes its a good sniper for pvp, not as good as .308 winchester 70 or 7.62 x 54mm mosin 9130, but still good enough.

 

i'd say mp5 because higher fire rate(i think?) for CQB, but both will do great.

Nah, AKM is the best for CQB.....NOT!!! :)

EDIT: FFS....I was actually trying to answer the question too...not just beeing silly...toss the MP5 if you are on stable. There are more ammo to the ak lying around the map imho.

I don't trust anything that is bolt action for PvP. Specially not when players have unlimited sprint stamina.

 

However bolt action can be used for counter sniping I think.

In my opinion cr527 is a great role play/PvE weapon.

But in PvP bolt action makes its rate of fire too low.

Any long range rifle, whether it be bolt action or semi-auto, is good for sniping as long as you're good at sniping.

It's a bolt action long range rifle. 

 

The damage is moderate, range is fair. The only thing you might have to worry about is the accuracy.

 

But if you hit what you're shooting at, you'll be fine.

The CR527 requires extremely good precision to use effectively, due to only moderate damage of the 7.62x39mm. It also has an incredibly irritating bolt cycle animation that pulls you off the target when aiming, preventing you from seeing where the shot lands. The only harder to use sniper is a scoped Trumpet.

the aiming issue is a glitch with the magazine, don't use the mags for now.

Yes toss the CR, it's not the best option and better options are pretty easy to find right now.  

 

Personally I find the ranged silence of the Sporter + Hunting scope a lot of fun if a squad/player are in an open position.  You can plink away and reload merrily without them knowing where you are. 

 

Winchester is loud as hell but stands a good chance of downing someone in a hit or two.  I currently run with that but you need to be more careful about placement because people will know where you are much more easily.  

 

SVD is the new snipe meta gun if you can find one at guard house before someone else server-hops in and gets it first.

Blaze has best burst damage of any long ranged civilian weapon in game right now. That one two punch capability can be deveatating if you land both shots.

Keep scope, ditch rifle, collect blaze from nearby deer stand.
