Cheapsh0t247 1 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) spawns could be 28days later'esk. Waking in some building post infection. Would add a real sense of being lost in chernaus again looking out of windows to work out where you are and if its safe to leave at that moment, similar buildings in different points across the map, similar streets, could take a while to locate your self on a respawn larger buildings more spawn points, larger settlements more spawns, always a chance of spawning in a shed in middle of nowhere Edited June 24, 2015 by Cheapsh0t247
Parazight 1599 Posted June 24, 2015 Post infection? Huh?Spawning in buildings wouldn't make it harder to locate your position. It doesn't take long at all to realize where you are, if you've been playing for any decent amount of time.

It doesn't take long at all to realize where you are, if you've been playing for any decent amount of time.Regardless of the time it takes to figure out where you are, spawning in a building is a more realistic starting scenario than just waking up on a beach.A bedroom or in a living room by a couch or anything where your char is now just waking up would make more sense than "i spent the night passed out in the grass with my chem light and rag, good thing nothing ate me while i slept". A good opening scenario was the one in dead island. Partying all night and narrowly missing the infection spreading while you leave the dance floor and end up passed out in your hotel room. Then waking up to the aftermath.
OnionOfShame 138 Posted June 24, 2015 I agree that we should spawn in buildings. Not because people would not be able to locate themselves (any experienced player will still recognize the area, maybe even more than before), but because it makes more sense. Why would you just wake up one day post-apocalypse and decide to stroll out into the middle of nowhere with nothing but inadequate clothing, a chemlight, and a rag? If you think about it the apocalypse clearly didn't happen yesterday, so realistically our character would have already survived for quite some time, and would have some amount of gear already (but IMO this route would be bad, game balancing/progression and all). But there should be some system to prevent players from spawning into a building where another player is already holding out. Maybe just block spawning within a certain radius of another player?
