I've read that as well, but I've seen some suspicious looking loot arrangements right after a reset that makes me think some persistence is present.

as far as i can say, its disabled

tents and droped items dont save and loot arrangements in small villages change to quickly, than players would loot

although im not sure about it, but i think vehicles might not be saving either

I was at Balota and had checked out the loot around the eastern jail building and a short while later after a server restart all the loot was different. Similar for the most part, but different. Could be that some servers are behaving differently, like the ones that weren't connected to the hive for whatever reason and were not resetting properly?
