Please help me set my game.

Recommended Posts

Hello, i want to say that im an complete tech noob, and im also aware that my laptop isnt ultra strong.

I would like to ask you guys what game settings should I use, and turn on/off specific effects to make the game look nice and not slow.

Ive heard that setting it in game isnt all that can be done, you can do in in some cfg file to use all the power you got. Can someone guide me through it? Or slip an ready best config for me?

Here is picture of that I got in my laptop.

I'm going to be honest with you. Those hardware specs do not look the best..

You could do a few things in the .cfg file, and set certain settings while you are in-game, but the game will still be very hard to play.

If you have $6-800 that you can spend, I recommend having someone build you a computer for gaming. Since you said you are "a complete tech noob" then it would be very difficult for you to try to build your own.

Edit: Look, it will still be very hard to play but I'll give you a few tips.

1) Go to the DayZ.cfg file and open it with text program. Find the GPU_MaxFramesAhead=xxx;       and change the "xxx" to "1" on both of them.

                                                                                                     GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=xxx;

2) Download This. It has a game booster when you install it. You'd set the booster's settings to "custom" and check the boxes for any and all programs/applications/anything that you will not use when playing games. It could very easily give you 5-20 more frames based on your system.

3) Whenever you are on the main menu in DayZ, go to the configuration tab. When you are there, click on "Video" and then "rendering." all of the things like "ambient occlusion"  "alpha to coverage" you should set on the lowest settings.

---

These tips should give you a few more frames, but getting a new computer is your best bet.
