"wait for character to create" bug

hey guys,

like every player should know there is a bug, wich freezes you screen if you want to join a game at "waiting for character to create".

do anyone have some informations about it or can post here the thread about it? i couldnt find something.

The central database for all DayZ characters was DDoS'd by a bunch of butthurt script kiddies. That's what is causing the 'Waiting for character to create' error.

Rocket and the team are working on restoring the service so until then, you will just have to wait.

People are guessing it's a bunch of kids who got hit by BattlEye's banwave. But your guess is as good as mine right now.

The central node has been down again for the last few hours due to the attacks. It is ongoing we're working to fix it as soon as we can.

So I was headed up a hill, and I lost contact with the server.. when I tried to log back in I never even made it back into the game, just a message popped up saying I had died... and from that point on, All I get is the waiting for character to create. Pretty bummed out if I died, I was loaded and I don't even know what happened. Could the attack has caused that?
