instynct 99 Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) I keep reading everywhere on the forums and subreddit that this game needs "optimized" and this will not happen until beta stages. While it's true that many features in this game needs optimization, those are not the core issues in this engine. There are clearly systems in this engine that need completely replaced to provide a stable foundation to build the game on mostly related to performance (server and client) and this isn't the first game developed by Bohemia that has these same problems. I just can't seem to understand how people think that these core issues can simply be "optimized" in Beta stages. You can't perfect something that needs to be completely rewritten/replaced and has so many other dependencies that will only grow as you add more to the engine. An example would be implementing a new renderer, you can't simply wait until Beta to replace something so huge in the engine. There are obviously major issue with rendering cities that needs to be resolved but many people keep saying that there won't be an 'instant' fix for performance in cities. Why not? There is clearly something broken in the engine that needs to be replaced to fix this issue, such as implementing a new renderer with better occlusion culling. Now I'm not saying that this is the specific issue with cities, because Arma 3 has a DX11 renderer and I still get terrible performance in cities. If these core issues are not resolved in Alpha, the likelihood of them ever being resolved is very small. TLDR: I feel like there is too much misinformation being spread around, you don't wait until Beta to fix core engine issues such as these because so many other systems rely on them. Why can't we get any official answers regarding this from the developers. Edited June 2, 2015 by Andromeda

It's time for you to read up on some of these issues. Otherwise you'll make yourself look stupid in the end. Optimisation has happened a lot already and the renderer is already partly integrated. You're probably about a few months late with your assumptions. Edited June 2, 2015 by kichilron
