EddyBalboa 6 Posted May 16, 2015 No connection? Whatever it is you're taking, I'd like to buy some, because you are definitely on another planet, friend. Same map, same premise. There's your connection. But don't take my word for it. Dean Hall himself said he'd always wanted the mod to be more of an anti-game, and thus the standalone came to be.Im getting your point of view right now, yeah. So i think Dean create very good game from initial Arma 2 setting, but dont understand what EXACTLY in gameplay was so embarassing to the us gamers to play. ANd this is why Dayz Standalone goes so well (only 10 000 people in the world playing it rigth now at high peak of the day). Yeah. Big Win Dayz Mod. Big fail Dayz SA. Hope new devs gonna change it. EddyBalboa 6 Posted May 16, 2015 DayZ mod was a survival game. The other rippoffs which you speak of were not. I bet you were one of those players who paid for starting gear.Dayz mod was a definitely NOT a survival game at any means. All this beans and pepsi just for lulz was there. The real thing was only one - to contest more geared enemy and win them by skill luck and outsmarting them. Just example: you got a double barrel shotgun and ammo, you get 1km from Stary sobor and you gonna loot military base in it. And YOU KNOW that Stary is camped by GEARED PEOPLE (with DMR, M107 and ridiculous AS50) and only way you can do this - by your pure skill and luck. You must carefully choose route to it, carefully proceed look at every bushes, do all stuff etc etc. THAT WAS THE GAME. Not a survival ENTIRELY (if you mean survival as find food to not starve, but win other people on a gunfight) .
kichilron 8550 Posted May 16, 2015 Topic cleaned. Please don't get yourself into useless and stupid agruments where you end up insulting each others. Especially not the ones amongst us that are really just a fart away from being banned...

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. And nobody's saying you can't do the exact same thing you did in the Mod. You're still free to gear up and hunt other survivors. Only now, that's going to be priority #2, with #1 being staying alive in the middle of a very, very hostile environment.

Nah you didnt free atm as much as in Mod. Desync and new zombie spawn system ruin the experience ATM. Hicks saying it will be optimized in next months and when we will see. 8bit_Survivor 93 Posted May 17, 2015 Hello therepersonally Id prefer man made items to be rare/already scavenged and to have to survive using improvised kit and weapons.Finding a pistol should be an "epic" find not to mention bullets. That's just me though.RdgsLoKWhat Orlok said. But at the rate at which they are adding military/full auto weapons, I'm not sure if that is the direction they are heading.I want to jump out of my seat and cheer when I find a can of peaches.

However, no, we're not playing Caveman-Z where everyone runs around in animal hide skins and the improvised bow is practically the only ranged weapon (that you ever experience, at least.) That stuff's an option for those people who like to play with it but I don't think DayZ would be better if you're meant to die five hundred times before finding your first bit of food. Mods will certainly provide this, but DayZ is, if anything, a survival game, not a death simulator. (Implying grueling but feasible survivability as opposed to near certain death no matter what)
