Can't play anymore - not stupid but stumped

Hi all,

 

I just reinstalled Arma2 CO, DayZ vanilla and Epoch to try out Epoch as I haven't played for almost 2 years.

I am global banned by BattleEye before I even start to play. I used to play no problem 2 years ago.

 

Please be patient as I may have missed it but I can't see the answer to my problems anywhere and my situation is not totally straightforward.

I bought the game & started playing DayZ 3 years ago and persevered, despite the bugs and hackers.

TBH it was pretty funny most of the time, when they weren't killing us - I remember one hacker made it rain cows on parachutes, another made a nuclear explosion, etc.

One day I was playing and a few strange things happened:

• I got stuck half in the floor at the super-buggy airfield and tried logging in & out to free myself, somehow got free and ran into the firestation but was unarmed by this point (not sure how but it was bug-tastic)
• There I met a girl character who wouldn't talk but was obviously a hacker - we're both cowering in the corner unarmed but the next second I was totally kitted out - sniper rifle etc. and so was she.
• She spawned a vehicle and gestured me to get on and then teleported us both all around the map
• This was hilarious until we appeared at the top of a mountain and fell down it to our deaths (mine anyway, I never saw her/him again)

To my surprise the next day I was banned - no I'm not asking for justice and couldn't give a monkey's how many people think this simply doesn't happen and I must have cheated. I contacted Battleye but got no response. If Battleye made cars we'd all be dead. Hey ho, water under the bridge.

 

So I bought the game again and played a bit more but RL got in the way and I haven't touched it for almost 2 years.

Now I want to play Epoch but I am being told I am globally banned.

So, how do I or even can I use the second Key I purchased - where do I find it - or has the game changed so much that my Steam GUID is now banned and doesn't matter what key I use, because I'll need a new Steam ID and a another copy of the game to play?

 

BTW I am using DayZ Commander on WinXP and it says it could not load the GUID for A2OA - have I played the game at least once? I have started it up and exited.  Thanks for any help!

You need a new steam account, bans are tied into your steam id,
