This is similar to how my friend and I play as well except we only carry hatchets when out in the open, and we use signal fires to get attention. So far only one person has came by our camp and he took about 6 steaks, morphine, and blood bag. There will be more attempts tonight.

I've considered only carrying a hatchet, if only appear less of a target to the hostiles I occasionally come across.

But at the end of the day I've decided that carrying a weapon is best in case I get caught up in a scenario like 3.3 (in first post).

Hey Bottle, I once grabbed a pushbike of the side of a road and there was a flare on it wonder if it was yours lol.. xD I usually want to go out of my way to help people because I'm just so nice but i always end up getting back stabbed or killed :c
