Multi screen while playing

Recommended Posts

Hi all I want to pose a question.

I tend in most games to setup such that I can have my game on a central monitor and have two side monitors, usually 1 for web browser and the other for voice comm's or some other resource I might use. I have found this difficult to do in DayZ as the screen will disappear and the sound will stop when I interact outside the game window or in windowed mode the screen freezes and the sound stops.

In a multiplayer game with zombies this does not work out so well, its like playing russian roulette on whether a player or zombie comes to have their way with you while you are doing something outside the game window and the first thing you know about it is when you click the game window again.

Do others get annoyed by this or am I just being too fussy?

I'm afraid I already feel I know the answer to the next question but this sort of affect is due to the way the game engine interects with the computer and the operating system?

So is it unlikely that DayZ will at some stage support the use of multiple monitors to have access to music and webrowsers etc while still being able to see and hear what is going on around you when the game windows looses focus?

I use three screen spanning and up until a patch or 2 ago had to use it windowed. If the game got minimized I had to use taskmanager and right click, maximize the game from the application tab.

@wacktopia Thank you kindly  :D  I shall have to play with those options!

@BCBasher I tried the triple head arrangement but it gave me a headache, something about the way it distorted on the other 2 monitors didnt feel right, I might have had the Field of View wrong though.  anyway I perfer having other things like browser and music up rather than doing eyefinity type stuff.
