Yak-112 a small two person civil propeller aircraft. Not to fancy this could be a good first plane.

This is a popular utility helicopter in russia. It is very basic and has the posibilty of being in differenct forms. You could have passenger variants, carog variants, and others too. It is used a lot, pretty small, and would make a nice first helicopter in the game.

Czechoslovakian Air Force - received 33 Il-2 and 2 training Il-2U aircraft. This type was operated between 1944 and 1949

Who knows how many are left but it is the second most produced plane in the world so I'm sure there's a couple laying around here and there. This would be and ultra-rare spawn chance.

Yak-3... Get it from War Thunder? I love that game.

I would love some biplanes like this, they are amazing to have fun with on the DayZ mod.

Yea I've known about it from war thunder but it's the most popular fighter while not being the su-27 or 26....... or 25.

Guess the number of surviving Yak-3s, not replicas... (hint: can count on one hand even if you lost 3 fingers). Replicas have no armament making them kinda pointless. I think something like this is more appropriate:

Ok then I will find a diffrent one.

Also im not sure if cessnas are common in Russian. I'm probably wrong, but I was looking at strictly russian made aircraft.

There is currently one (known) airworthy IL-2... and it was a restored model done a few years ago, using a lot of American engine parts. Actual IL-2s in their original forms have not been in the skies for a very long time.

The Yak-112 would be fine, but we're not in Russia; Chernarus is a post-Soviet satellite state. Yes, the vast majority of past influence would be Soviet, but you'd be surprised how Westernized many of these countries have become since 1991, and Cessnas are common civil aircraft pretty much everywhere (that you'll find civil aircraft.) KA-26 would be okay, though I think if you're going to go with a Russian "utility" helicopter the Mi-8/Mi-17 would probably be the best choice, especially considering that there are wrecks present and they're known canon equipment of the CDF.

They could also do a UH-1Y, as those act as the "West" crashsite model. I'm not too sure how people would feel about working miniguns or rocket pods, though, and where exactly they would've been stationed (considering the USMC insignia) on the map is hard to tell.

We can have a crop duster type plane that would spawn at the NEAF and have no armaments except pesticides which when sprayed on players could make them deathly sick.

What about the good old U.L.M ?

arton47055.jpg

It's slow, doesn't fly very high, and could be the equivalent of the bike in air terms.

Doesn't need long runways, takes off in 20 meters, can easily land on a road, or on the grass ( granted that might be a little bit more dangerous, but it's actually quite done) and uses a 50 cc motor. Needs little mechanical skills... This is the kind of aircraft that you can easily fix.

Honestly, it might not be russky all the way, but these things are all over the world in hobbyist aerodromes.

Of course, it has no weapons, and it should have just about the speed of a V3S truck. But for a quick getting around, for a lone wolf player, I'd say this is top choice: You can even land on the Prison Island and take right back off...

Oh, and let's not forget, you can build one yourself, from a scrapped bycicle and a wing :

I believe that since the UH-1Y is usually a transport helicopter they could put it in without armaments.

Even though its not confirmed, i like to consider that dayz takes place after Operation Red Harvest so if that were the case then the best places probably be either balota airfield or NEAF(idk if it now being a civilian airfield makes a difference).
