Computer Crash DayZ SA?

Recommended Posts

Someone please help!

Ever since I followed the directions on http://dayzintel.com/dayz-guides/dayz-standalone-performance-guideon editing my files and fixing fps (I do know that they said warning but someone please help me fix it) whenever I launch DayZ my whole computer crashes!

-I'm on Windows 8

Processor: Intel® Core i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz

RAM: 8GB

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series

So I don't have a bad system at all its actually and Alienware <3 but ever since I edited those files it crashes every time.

Things I've tried;

-Uninstalling DayZ through steam

-Verifying Integrity of Cache

!EDIT! MY COMPUTER CRASHES ABOUT 1 MINUTE AFTER LAUNCHING I CAN GO INTO OPTIONS AND ALL THE SERVERS AND STUFF BUT AFTERWARDS IT JUST ENDS UP CRASHING!!!

you have messed with gfx options so goto my documents/dayz and delete the profile/cfg that is using the settings, that's why reinstalling didn't help. Your profile is saved in my documents.

Does it crash on startup, when you join a server, or after a few minutes of gameplay?  Also, You need to delete the entire DayZ folder thats in your documents folder, not just the files you edited.

Well it crashes a few minutes after startup and I've tried even deleting every DayZ folder I can find and it still does the same thing... My game might just be broken forever D;

I think it's your launch options. Go back to the tutorial and check the launch options section. Crashes usually occur when there is an issue with memory. Check to see if you designated too much ram for dayz. If you give dayz all your ram then your os and other programs don't have any. Thus causing you to crash.

Do what he said, reset your launch options to default and verify integrity of the game cache.

Also, do the normal BS you would do with stuff that doesn't work as well, I.E. update drivers, blah blah blah
