Non-ambient sound only coming out left side of headset, Need help!

Ive been getting this glitch all the time where non-ambient sounds only come through the left headphone on my headset. When a zombie or gunshot goes off on my right, I can only hear it on my left which is bad. I have checked my headphone drivers and they are all up to date, went in the mixer and checked balance : all good, every other game works, uninstalled and re installed DayZ and upgraded to experimental. There was a problem and noted as such in 0.51 ("Left earpiece sound volume is lowered sometimes").
There may well be an acknowledged ticket on the Bug Tracker.

I looked there and saw no fix for the problem.
