NewtoThis 20 Posted March 25, 2015 Hey guys been awhile since I've posted or really played for that matter. Game seems like it's really getting somewhere with all the new content. I apologize if it's been brought up a 100 times but I just wanted to see if anyone had insight on my experiences with 54. 1. My guy is like pac man to food. I feel like he's always hungry. Anyone else notice this? It just seems to be a limitation especially if you like to live "off the grid" in game. 2. Still can't get certain commands to work half the time. When I try to change weapons or jump I have to stop moving and hit the key repeatedly. (I had a Logitech MX5500 with the issue and still see it with my G710+) 3. Lag... still laggy... why? =( 4. Choppy/low framerate at times especially in the city. I'm guessing a GTX970 is in my near future? 5. Where is everybody? Even in the large servers I'm not really running into anyone... where do the sane people meet and run a muck? Other than that I'm hooked again... big thanks to Bohemia for the hard work.. I'm sure this is quite an undertaking to create.
liquidcactus 719 Posted March 25, 2015 Dunno about the eating thing you mention but as far as I know it has needed to be tweaked since the SA released so i think the eat to much thing has been there from the start. 3. Dayz will forever be laggy 4. Low frame rate in cities will always be with us 5. I always play on low pop servers to avoid running into the usual idiots that plague this game.. BleedoutBill 1636 Posted March 25, 2015 Eugen recently made a couple of posts in the experimental forum that explain some of the current issues with server/game performance: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/222231-exp-update-055126884-discussion/?p=2232648http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/222231-exp-update-055126884-discussion/?p=2232667 Basically, we are at a critical transition phase between the old tech and the new tech. Until everything can be ported over to the new tech, it's going to be a bit of a bumpy road.
ToySmokes 116 Posted March 25, 2015 1.Dayz will forever be laggy 2.Low frame rate in cities will always be with us1. No. It wont. They are working hard with the new system. We got a sneak peek of the new player system right at this new status raport. New zombie AI will also decrease the lag. When the new engine gets fully implomented, i feel pretty confidemt it will have eliminated the laggines, atleast the major part of it2. Lower* The new renderer and an optimization of the game will probably fix this a bit. We will probably always have less fps in cities. But I, here to, feel pretty confident that the devs knows what to do about this, and that they can make the game playable also in cities!

I realize this wont be for some time and I'm not trying to discredit anyone cause I love dayZ more than any other game I have. I dare say most dayz players have been molded to be skeptical :D

NewtoThis 20 Posted March 26, 2015 Cool thanks for the insight... I think I remember now someone saying the engine was based on a 10 year old platform and they planned to upgrade it. I tend to play on higher populated servers as it's generally too easy to get what you want when no one is around lol.
