Greater residential loot randomisation

Recommended Posts

So I suppose that anyone who has played the game for more than a few hours has a pretty decent idea of where to find food, clothing and weapons. House A is virtually guaranteed to spawn a gun, house B is likely to spawn ammo and house C is a good bet for a lot of food. House D and E might spawn a can of Pipsi and some sunglasses.

The result is that Houses D and E are completely overlooked because people know that the odds of finding better loot are better in other buildings.

It'd be better if all residential buildings had completely random spawn chances, with no one building having a higher chance than any other to spawn a Mosin or some ammo. Buildings like police stations and fire stations should, of course, still spawn items relevant to them, respectively - but I shouldn't make a beeline for the corner building or the log cabin and be pretty much guaranteed to find a weapon.

And while on the subject of loot, I'd really like to see the removal of the fake item props - stuff like the chopped firewood and the line of shoes. Feels sort of weird that I can't take a nice pair of shoes when my feet or bleeding, or use a pile of dry firewood when I'm freezing. Of course it'd be even better if those props were replaced with actual items.
