Cooperative Missions

Recommended Posts

Hey, guys! I apologize for the new thread, but you guys have been very helpful! Anyway, this isn't directly related to DayZ, but it is at the same time. I downloaded some cooperative missions for Operation Arrowhead and I get this message when I try to host a LAN game.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure that you've got the correct missionfile for the version of the mod you're trying to run and that the mission you specified in your server.cfg is in the correct place / has the correct name?

Well, I am not even able to specify what mission I want. I crashes right after this. I intend to play some of the zombie co-op missions.

I don't understand? The error you've posted in the OP is related to DayZ not having all the things needed.

You are aware that you need the proper setup with a dedicated server and database for DayZ to work? You can't just launch the DayZ Mission without all that and expect to have zombies....

No, yeah... I totally understand that! That's the part this is strange. I'm not trying to run DayZ. I would use DayZ Commander if I was. I'm just trying to play Operation Arrowhead. Actually, I think I may know what the problem is. I didn't make a separate directory for Pwnoz0r's server. I have used it before, but I completely forgot to do that this time. Do you think that is what's messing me up?

It definitely isn't working and DayZ is the cause. I did a fresh install and tested it before installing DayZ. It worked fine, but it is messed up now that I installed DayZ. Can I not host an Arma 2 game with DayZ installed?

Okay, I found a fix, but it's not entirely practical. I was troubleshooting and I moved all of the DayZ files out of my MPMissions folder. This worked. I was able to start a server with ease. I wonder if there is a way to start Operation Arrowhead and make it think that the MPMissions folder is somewhere else.

SET MPMISSIONS=C:\USERS\ALEX\DESKTOP\MPMISSIONS

Any ideas?

Hey, guys! I tried to ask this question on Armaholic, but the admin was a little rude and locked my thread because I guess it didn't belong in General Discussion. Anyway, no worries! :-) I hope this is the appropriate section!

So, I was trying to host a LAN game in Operation Arrowhead and I kept getting this message.

Anyway, after some troubleshooting... I figured out that I had to move everything DayZ out of my MPMissions folder in order to host a LAN game. Is there any way to start Operation Arrowhead and make it think that the MPMissions folder is somewhere else by using a .bat file or something?

SET MPMISSIONS=C:\USERS\ALEX\DESKTOP\MPMISSIONS

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance! :-)

What you're experiencing here is that you have a remaining install of DayZ somewhere. This can happen through multiple things, I will try to list all that comes to my mind:

  1. Possibly remains of "@Dayz" somewhere in your install and is being launched everytime you're launching ARMA 2 / ARMA 2: OA. Check your "common" or "Addons" folder in your game-directories to make sure there are no DayZ-affiliated files in there. (If there are, please delete. Easiest way is to uninstall game via Steam and delete all remaining folders (do backups of your missions!)
  2. It is possible that there are remains in your .cfg folders. If you're not sure where to locate them, try searching for them in one of these folders: C:\Users\YourUser\Documents\ArmA 2 OR: C:\Users\Your User\Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles
  3. It is also possible that there are remaining copies of DayZ files in one of these folders: C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA OR: C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Local\ArmA 2

Make sure there are no remains of DayZ in any of these and then try again.

Another thing to note is that you could have remaining Launch-Parameters in your Steam-Install, which launches DayZ by default. When you're in the game, make sure there is no display of "DayZ" whatsoever in either the bottom right corner of your screen in the mainmenu nor in the "Expansions" Tab of the Main Menu.

If the problem persists, feel free to contact me.

Hello. thanks for the reply! Well, as I said above... DayZ is not active in any way. I did find a fix, but it involves moving everything out of my MPMissions folder and then putting the Operation Arrowhead missions in it. It will work fine once I do this. Oh, and I do have a server installed (DayZ Server Control Center). Those are the files that I have to move out.
