game unplayable

Hello, I really want to get back into dayz but its literaly unplayable right now, I have under 15 fps in town with a good computer and all my other friends are able to play with 35+ fps in town and around 40 outside towns, Would like to get some help if possible 


 


here is my rig


i7-2600 3.40ghz


GTX 770 4GB


8gb of ram


the game is installed on an SSD and does the same thing on my 7200 RPM HDD


750 PSU

turn your settings down especially shadows. the game isnt optimized at the moment so even if you do have a good computer the game wont run as well as it should.

even everything on low its doesnt change anything, still unplayable

Do you have a high ping or desync while playing?

 

Do you have any background programs open while playing like recording programs or any browsers?

i know this sounds odd but another thing you could do is uninstall and reinstall the game will set up your settings for you to maximize performance. i had to do this once i had the same problem as you. and that helped a lot.

Do you have any background programs open while playing like recording programs or any browsers?

I have 10 ping and 10 desync and no, nothing running except teamspeak

i know this sounds odd but another thing you could do is uninstall and reinstall the game will set up your settings for you to maximize performance. i had to do this once i had the same problem as you. and that helped a lot.

Turning everything to low offloads it to the CPU from GPU and makes it run even worse (dayz is a cpu hog).  Everything that you can't turn off fully set to normal or high, make sure scaling is 100% and AA is off.  With those specs the game should be more than playable, framerates may dip into the 20s but its not a slideshow.

Have you gone into you config files and edited GPU max detected frames ahead blah blah?

 

EDIT: I run an FX-8350 and this game still runs like shit XD

This is also true OP try that and report the results to us.
