[Recruiting] The Brigade

Recommended Posts

Life without society is "Nasty, brutish, and short."

-Thomas Hobbes

We don't know what started this chaos. Right now, we don't care. All we do know for sure is that our land burns. As laws vanish and stomachs grow hungry, humanity shows its true quality. You hear about it every day, from the lips of travelers or from the staccato popping of gunfire in the distance, or you see it yourself in the lifeless corpses of survivors swarming with flies. It is total anarchy, and humanity has already proven its character.

It is time to fight back.

When an infection threatens to take the hand, the doctor amputates the rotten finger. Chernarus, our beloved home, has become a festering pit of anarchy and disorder, and doctors are needed. If you are a man or woman of the proper fortitude to do what is necessary to restore order, then you are needed.

No more hiding from the sounds of gunfire. No more fleeing from shadows on the horizon. Strength and duty. Join the Brigade.

What is "The Brigade?"

The Brigade is a US-based group (GMT-7) designed for team play of DayZ. Modeled after militant factions such as Duty from STALKER or the Enclave from Fallout, this group is all about using force to accomplish its goals.

What is different about this group?

Members get access to the unit's stores and supplies, benefit from organized leadership, as well as a modestly sized and reliable group of team players to have fun with. Unlike many groups, however, The Brigade is a self-styled "bad guy" faction. Perfect for those gamers who were disappointed they couldn't join the villains in many games.

What are the group's goals?

The Brigade's long-term goal is to become a respected (feared) faction in DayZ, using force to control territory and monopolize access to supplies.

What is it like being a member?

The Brigade borrows ShackTac's motto of "serious fun." There are no "required" times to play or anything which would place demands on you as a person with a real life. However, once in-game, the Brigade runs like a militia, with a commander and officers, and many enlisted who follow the leader and take part in patrols.

Is there any of that "yes sir" nonsense?

No. The Brigade is militant and organized, but it is not a mil-sim group.

Who is Hobbes?

Thomas Hobbes was an English philosopher who, in short, postulated that should society collapse or not exist, life for mankind would be "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short." DayZ reflects his theory perfectly.

What skills will a Brigade Initiate need?

A Brigade initiate will need to be able to scavenge, scout, and navigate on a map using coordinates. If one cannot do that, one is a liability.

I want more information or want to join.

Information is free. Joining is not. Either comment in this thread for info or contact me via PM in order to begin your initiation. You will receive a task to accomplish in DayZ. Currently, we use Skype to communicate to initiates, and members have a TS server all our own.

To all our new recruits: Congratulations on passing the test. Not everyone does.

Is The Brigade an already-formed-group or is it just starting out? :V

Our exact numbers are not public knowledge, but we're starting with a small core of players and seeking expansion. I'd say its more starting out than already formed.

I hope that answers your question, friend.

Do you guys use TS/Vent/Mumble etc' date=' and what times of the day are you usually playing? :)

[/quote']

Right now, we use Skype as our primary comms system. However, once we reach a certain (undisclosed) number of players, I have no problem setting up a TS3 server just for our group. At the rate we're gathering potential initiates, it may not be long at all before we have a TS server.

I hope that answers your question, m'friend.
