I had a fully geared out guy, then left the server turned off my computer and about 3 hours later log back into a random server and boom my guy was gone Why does this happen and how do i fix it. boneboys 7988 Posted March 8, 2015 so does that mean i would have to stay on a Public = 1st/3rd person server all the time and i would lose my guyIf you join a server that is in the same category you should keep your character.You can find which server you last joined by going into My Docs/ DayZ/ name DAYZPROFILE.Scroll down until you find : (for example)... lastMPServer="109.169.60.28:2314";lastMPServerName="DayZ UK 0-02 (Experimental/Unstable)";You can rejoin the server by entering the ip using the REMOTE tab in the server browser. If you still have a new character this means that the server you join can not fetch your data from the central Hive where your info is stored.A poor internet connection may result in this happening. Always check for best server ping and that there are players in-game.Do not join a server directly after a restart, give it a few minutes to load. Good luck.
