full screen for win7 64bit fix

Recommended Posts

window mode is giving me the shits.

Ive tried all the tricks to fix the black load screen issue.

Nothing ive tried so far works.

Im on a win7 64bit setup with x2 460's in sli.

Im using a steam install of CO.

mem limiter via msconfig on boot, done..

maxmem 512 on shortcut, done..

refresh is even right, config and monitor both at 60.

all I see is a black screen and the in game cursor.

So frustrating.

any of you guys have win7 64 and find a fix that works?

I cant see anything else to try at the moment.

i've never had this issue, i run win7 x64...why do you have maxmem as 512MB? you should ATLEAST allocate Arma 2 with 1GB, 2 would be even better. I personally give Arma 2 4GB of memory to play with, maybe that is your issue

you say you get a black screen and the in game cursor... do you also get audio playing? and if you click fire do you see the muzzle flash?

sorry if it sounds silly, but I thought i was getting a black screen then realised it was at night and the seeing as there's no light sources where I was, it was pitch black lol

Why are you adding command lines that are not necessary.

The game (ArmAII) is more than capable of detecting the most fitting resolution and video memory settings.

Then you may start tweaking here and there to get that little extra boost that you think you need.

W7 64bit and only one gtx460 here.

I was doing what was told to do to fix a full screen bug with 64bit win 7.

nothing to do with performance.

Anywho now its fixed.. but for a while there I was getting a black screen in full screen mode because the game cant handle more than 3gb ram allocated.
