The GPS will show you six coordinates, like so: 012987

Split the numbers down the middle, like so:

012

987

These are your coordinates. When you look at the map, you will notice along the top and and left side of the map are numbers. When you are zoomed out, you will only see two numbers on top and two numbers on the sides. These numbers correspond to the FIRST two numbers in each pair of your coordinate. For example, while zoomed out, your location on the map would be:

01

98

When zoomed in, the numbers at the top and left change to 3 number series, which correspond exactly to your 012,987

Kinda confusing, I know. Once I find a GPS, I will make a video on it.

Three digit square = 100x100meters.

Two digit squares = 1000x1000meters.

Go into your options, filter infantery controls and assign a key to "GPS toggle". Then you can switch your gps on/off and watch it, without using the map.

Just like he said. If you zoom the map in, you'll see a grid and along the top/bottom and sides are sets of numbers. If the GPS says 051089 then you'd look on the map, find 051 on the top bar then follow those grid blocks down until it meets 089 on the right set of numbers. And you will be located in the grid you end up with. It's really not that hard. Basic stuff learned in school. Not saying your dumb. Just make sure you zoom the map in a bit or you may not see the numbers on the top. I'm not talking about the numbers that spawn on random locations and forests in the game, like 345 for example. The coordinate numbers are the graph on the top and sides of the map. Each block represents the next number in line, so if I went east a grid, I'd be at 081 instead of 080. Understand kinda?

They sir are contour lines! They mark points on the map of equal elevation.
