DevilDog (DayZ) 455 Posted July 2, 2012 Honestly I don't know why people don't just hunt these people down on their own? People camping in the tree line outside Cherno and Elektro? Ok so you come up behind them and track down their location and kill them. Some guy hidden in a building, even easier. He has less ability to move around. Track down his location and kill him. They are able to kill without recourse because other players allow it. Yeah when you are new or don't have a decent weapon you are probably no match. But once you get a decent weapon and some experience then band together with other like minded people and hunt them down.So to put it here, but it is a suggestion....to other players. wolfsburg62 66 Posted July 2, 2012 I crawled through 1200 meters of grass in a gillie suit just to kill this asshole on top of the control tower of the NW airfield. It was the single most satisfying moment in my existence in DayZ.
Nebo NZ 13 Posted July 2, 2012 Was running around in Elektro with the 'Nothing to lose' attitude.Dashing my way from the supermarket to the power station I hear a .50 Cal rifle up in the hills and a bullet whizzing through my hair.Double it back to the supermarket, grab a makarov and begin my flanking mission against the sniper.-When Im sitting behind the sniper, turns out theres actually 3 of them all in ghillie suits. Proceed to kill one then get taken out by the other 2.Simply put there DevilDog but its hard when theres more than 1, and only 1 of you :)
BL1P 252 Posted July 2, 2012 Ill start hunting them when they cant DC or server hop.Cause it seems most with the kill on sight and kill for fun mentality players I have met also have the DC and Server hop mentality.
DemonGroover 8836 Posted July 2, 2012 I agree, once these players cant DC and have to fight we'll see who the real bandits are and who are the chicken shits.
ronson537 0 Posted July 2, 2012 well me and my friends was infilatrating the barracks at night we got inside took some stuff killed zombies suddenly my friend died by gun fire we realize there was a bandit server hopping and he killed ower friend but he dc becuse there was more 2 of us left wich we could easily kill him :/
SwissArmy (DayZ) 5 Posted July 2, 2012 Not surprised by the server hopping by these little psychopaths. If these murderers DC, they should be limited to one login per 12 hours.
vision1776 42 Posted July 2, 2012 I have been running around military bases and camps waiting for someone to try to snipe me. I have an M24 with 15 rounds and 2 years Arma 2 experience waiting to counter snipe so called "sniper bandits."PS: It would be cool if they could make a domination version for dayz where friendly fire is off and you HAVE to work together to reclaim towns. Pump up the fog, give the survivors a starting base with some weapons and vehicles, and let the survivors reclaim towns and cities from HORDES of zombies. You could also add "side missions" where smaller parties team up to search for food to bring back to base.
Ampoliros 43 Posted July 2, 2012 Funny, I had the same idea today. Definitely worth looking into, I'd like a nice sniper rifle, and if I can get it off a dead server-hopping bitch I'll name it Satisfaction.Oh, and if you are Devildog from the Survive videos, I love your work man. I use Alamo all the time.
thywolf@live.ca 3 Posted July 2, 2012 A proper sniper, would never stay in the same location. He would give up his location, then flee and giggle as he sets up a new spot waiting for you to look for him on the other hill
deathwizard77@gmail.com 28 Posted July 2, 2012 The biggest thing you don't realize is the people that are near those towns. You say the people that are armed could kill them. Yes they could. My current char can probably make easy work out of many/most of the bandits in Cherno/Eleektro. One major problem. My char since been that well armed has not been in the southern 25% of the map. Why would it? Fact is people in those areas normally fall into 3 categories. 1. The bandits who are obviously doing the killing. 2. New spawns who are usually only taking chances in the big cities because they do not have much gear so it's worth the risk 3. Newer players still learning allot of the basics which fact is this is a fine (although rutheless) place for them to learn the basics of looting, avoiding z's, some basic aiming and identifying which buildings to go in. Fact is majority of the people that are playing this game for what it is have no reason to go to that part of the map once they have anything. The good spawns, vehicles, most of the stuff that matters is in the north. The better well fought battles are in the north where you don't have tons of groups fighting on all sides. Fact is if your in a group of 3-4 and you run into another group and decide to fight it somewhere in north more than likely that fight will stay 3-4 vs 3-4 or whatever it is to start. It is rare that 3 groups are that close to get involved (although does happen). If you were with 3 people in Cherno fighting 3 people you'd also fight the 2 guys over there and the 1 here and the 1 behind you etc.Fact you are writing this tells me one of two things. You Either need to stay out of the south and go see the other things this mod has to offer. Or if you can not deal with the slower paced north this may not be the game for you and you may want to go to a more faster paced game.I have had 3 lives in past 9-10 days. I have been in south at most 3-4 game hours out of 30+ hours played.

Or if you can not deal with the slower paced north this may not be the game for you and you may want to go to a more faster paced game.As I said, it does not bother me, but continually seeing "how to fix/nerf bandit" posts gets annoying. The game itself provides a solution to every problem. If you don't have a problem with snipers, then this is not aimed at you. But remember at one point you were that weak noob running around cherno getting sniped by a well armed bandit.Me? I like to head south every once in a while and take care of a couple snipers, just to keep them on their toes. I would help out the weaker guys in other ways but they can't be trusted lol. Aeoneth 163 Posted July 2, 2012 I think this would work better if it was easier for players to identify who is a bandit nto through bandit skins or heartbeat. but by having more customizations for starting survivor skin. If I can become famous/infamous for helping/killing other survivors in bright purple spandex, then it would be easier for players to know who they were talking about. Instead of getting one of 3 randomly generated skins every life so that my "face" always changes. This would also give the current skins in the game more of a role for the exact "face swap" i just mentioned as a way for players to elude their infamy. Zakificus 10 Posted July 2, 2012 I went up north for every life after I learned the main do's and don't's. But from all the posts about bandits ravaging the south, it seems like a good chunk of the players with good gear are in the woods just outside cities in the south. I'll sacrifice the best loot spawns and vehicles for some anti-bandit ops in the south.
Senrain 148 Posted July 2, 2012 Was roaming Elektro and there were a couple guys with 50 cals sniping people on top of the school and hospital, snuck up behind them and put a winchester round right into the back of one of their heads. The remaining two immediately disconnect and I grab the dead guy's AS50 and run onto the opposite hill, not even 5 minutes later they reconnect higher up on the hill thinking they would get the drop on me looting the corpse. Two shots and they both went down, most satisfying kills I've ever had. Doesn't really excuse the fact I started doing the exact same thing afterwards. Sniping defenseless survivors in Elektro is actually pretty fun, keeps them on their toes at least.
