i just got that message and my character got reset any way to contact an actual dayz moderator to get my char back?

I play since the release day and wipes occur rarely but pretty regularly.

As soon as you see this message, get out of the server, wait about 60-120 secs and re-enter what-ever server you were on. If it was a different server (Either changing do to server restart, or server hopping.) then try to remember service provider (Vilayer, Gameserver, Fragnet, etc.) and region you were on as it might help the server get the data from the public master hive.

 

This rarely occurs in private hives, as I've got about 8 or 9 different characters on different servers. In fact, it never happened to me on private servers.

 

Whenever this happened to me on public servers, I just get out of the server without moving or doing anything and then re-connect to either this one, or a different one, and retrieve my character. I've never lost either my 1PP or 3PP public hive toons with this.

 

Like Zyryanoff said, it is still in early alpha and the servers architecture is still pretty wonky in my opinion. Always a good thing to keep in mind, alpher.
