despair (DayZ)

Server hopping has made this game boring.

Recommended Posts

The fact that you can go to a loot location and change servers indefinitely until you have your desired loot makes this game boring. Dying and losing your loot isn't even a concern anymore because you can easily gear up this way. Because of this, exploring and finding loot isn't fun anymore. And before you say, "then don't do it". I don't, not anymore, but the fact that this is still in the game makes it boring and kills the fun knowing everyone else is doing it.

Then let those people be bored? Them having their favorite gun isn't going to make them kill you any less, or have a lower / higher chance of killing you in a gun fight (atleast by a noticable margin, seeing as any of the 'sought after, BiS guns' have rare ammo aswell)

Putting a timer on changing servers would just punish normal players that join a server and see it a. has lag b. not favorable coniditions c. night time etc.

I think only being able to logout/login 100m from any buidling is the way to go. That way - you enter Cherno you had better be prepared.

all a matter of perspective IMO i think both are equally boring.

The real fact of the matter is there is no point in loot anyway...killing zombies is pointless the only other reason to even use a gun is to kill people...

Just saying once you played this game and learned how to get stuff and survive...it becomes boring in general.

If you think about it the game is just a single player scavenger hunt on a big ass field...

Zombies are nothing but something to avoid since there is no point in even trying to kill them.

People are nothing but NPC's IMO since all they do is shoot at you on sight.

Once you set up a tent and got a vehicle it becomes dull....really dull.

P.S i think killing people is boring since there is no longer any side chat it just feels like your killing NPC's since there is no reaction. (thought it would be cool to have no side chat, but right now it is really really dumb the radio communication better hurry up and get put in...)

in b4 explanation of an "alpha"

Mechanics are already being added to prevent that. One of the first buggy hotfixes of 1.7.1 attempted to prevent server hoping/loot piling; but it got removed due to all the raging, and people not being patient enough to wait for tweaks.

Additionally you can see introduction of other mechanics, such as a crashed helicopters. The best gear in the game is currently found here, and it rewards exploring instead of camping. Go bitch somewhere else, or post some constructive feedback on the suggestion board.

This is actually quite a nice idea. It's even realistic, you wouldn't go sleeping in the center of a town, you would find a place where no zombies can find you like climb to a tree.

No one really cares about server hopping inside a town. Its more about loading in at the Air Fields and spots where helicoptor crashes spawn. loading in at like 1KM in a random direction from where you log out at would work perfectly.

I have a map of most Heli crash locations. I could go to the spot where the most spawn spots are, and server hop it on every server until i find one. Thats how easy this game is. Does it take the fun out of it? Yes. But is it worth it? Yes.

I agree. You can just scavenge for the minimal food and water and hide for days on end.

The player killing is getting out of hand. If I found myself in such an area in real life, I would simply leave. As there is nothing that rewards not killing people, there is no reason not to just have this be a player vs player or team vs player/team killing spree.

I suggested that people should have different skills that make them valuable to cooperate. This would probably reduce the indiscriminant killing. And in any case, there is such an abundance of loot and guns that there is no material reason to kill other survivors.

At this point, this alpha wastes time in having to pop from server to server looking for one in the right time conditions as the server admins are too dumb or lazy to indicate the ingame time settings in the host namess.

Arma II multiplayer is much more rewarding as a multiplayer game.

You can always tell who the mmo players are when they think loot is the end game of dayz.

Yep. You get em in all games unfortuantely. The ones that will avoid a fun game in BF3 or CoD just so they can level up faster.

You should probably remind yourself why you play games.
