How can a private server get a hive reset?

A whitelist private server's hive got reset after today's maintenance, but admins had no idea what they done. So what kind of admin actions(change persistence, for example) may cause a hive reset?

Well private hives never got reset liked stable did, so maybes its finally their turn

Private hive has the ability to do character restart. This was provided incase the persistence glitches out.

 

I haven't played with it, but its there.

So, if our admin did not turn persistence on, what else can make hive reset?

Making a private server hive "reset" is no easy task.  You would have to purge it of any and all records for players, vehicles and deployables.  There is no, "Ooops, I pressed one wrong button and now it's all wiped out." Unless of course they did actually wipe the server and database install and do a whole clean install of everything.

Not correct - persistence data can be reset but character data is stored on bohemias HIVE database.

so the only thing I can do is to ask server provider...

Depending on your server provider, they should have backups so they can restore your server back to a certain time or day.

Quoting myself There is no control to wipe data from a character just the server data.

 

It resets because we had an issue with the new BEC. I am sorry for the confusion as I thought it said character wipe.
