BEC Service has been terminated!

umm..  during a recent restart of my DayZMod server this morning, I noticed BEC didn't load up normally and just aborted.

 

BEC as you may know, handles the server restarts and watches out for them pesky banned hackers when they try to connect to your server.

 

So I head over to http://battle.org to see if maybe they are getting DDOS'd or whatever and instead I see a message that states," BEC Service has been terminated."

 

I'm kind of going to miss my scheduled server restarts and timed warning messages about the restart as well as the banned hackers not being able to log in.....

 

Anybody know what's up with that??

You can still get bec to do your restarts, I noticed the same thing no warning, no reason thx a lot bec

I see you can modify your HOSTS file on the server to re-direct the BEC sites to your LOCALHOST, like so...

 

127.0.0.1 ibattle.org

127.0.0.1 www.ibattle.org

 

So now it loads but can't check for updates nor does the REPORTER service work now...

 

But what most concerns me now is that... will the banned hackers still get kicked off before they can get in or do they now have free range now to wreck our stuff?

If they were banned before BEC was Terminated then they should be in your bans.txt which will stop them from getting on.

Yeah in your restart.cfg under the bec section just add --dsf before -f and that will make bec work as normal but as you said it will not check for updates but still connect after timeout.
