Swapping backpack makes one disappear in 94364

So the following situation. There is a backpack on the floor. With the scroll wheel you choose the option to "take backpack". Following happens:

in 93965 beta patch you would swap the backpacks and the old would be on the floor.

My friend has the latest 94364 beta patch. His old backpack keeps disappearing on the floor, two times right now. All the items in the old are also gone, ofc.

What is going on? New bug ? Its sad, coz you've always been told to SWAP the bakcpacks and take the items form the old. Well the old backpacks keep disappearing for my friend. In 93965 it works OK

Happened to me. Changed backpack. It just said "poof". Accidentally changed to a lesser one as well when I wasn't sure.

Confirm however my friend who I play with can see my old backpack so I didn't loose much.

here's what you need to do to transfer contents to new backpack:

1: press G and drop old backpack.

2:'take' new backpack

3:open the old backpack(be carefull NOT to 'take' it).

4:put all the items in your backpack like you would with any other loot pile.

Well yes. But the weird thing - it works for me perfectly fine just to swap backpacks. Actually it was the only RIGHT way to do as just dropping the backpack had a chance for it to disappear. Iam with the old 395 beta patch.

My friend with the latest beta patch, however, has problems described above.

Absolutely. Happens to me all the time. I pick one up, the original doesn't ever appear. I've also lost items when changing backpacks. You would think you could click the one that you originally had on the ground and pull out what you wanted from the original. It's rare that I'm ever able to. I've lost morphine to this which got me killed.

Usually to play it safe I open the new pack on the ground, put all of my items from my old pack into the one on the ground and then take it. That way if my old one disappears all my stuff is still on the new one on the ground. Only time it has really been a pain is if im trying to give a friend my old empty pack and it disappears (either from drop or swap). Using this method though I havent lost anything from getting a new pack.

I always thought you were supposed to...

1: Drop your pack

2: Pickup New pack

3: Load From Floor

In order to prevent packs disappearing.
