Arcanehippo 0 Posted February 5, 2015 So I used to play dayz and I stopped for a few months. I tried to start playing again a few a days ago and my game will load up fine and I can get into servers fine. When the server will first load It will run fine from anywhere for 1-15 minutes before I will drop from 50+ FPS to around 10-13. I have tried to reinstall the game and even reinstall it on a different hard drive. I've changed all of my settings and nothings seems to help. Is this a known bug in the game or is it something different? Thank you for reading and please any help would be nice!

It is a bug for me atleast. Havnt found a fix. But try editing config files maybe? Really I have to say.
HappyXceed (DayZ) 28 Posted February 5, 2015 I get FPS drops in cities, going from 40+ outside cities and 25-30 in cities. There is no fix, but if you edit the config files (like Jfiles said) you can increase your FPS so that when it drops you don't get terrible FPS.

There is no fix because that isn't a bug, cities are just far more taxing on your system. Hopefully the devs will be able to work on this when we get to the optimization stages of development, but we'll see.
hleVqq 139 Posted February 5, 2015 It's possible that your CPU is throttling due to high temperatures.
Arcanehippo 0 Posted February 5, 2015 I checked my temperatures last night right before I posted this and they went up a little when playing the game but nothing significant that should cause me to lose performance.

I can be in the country side staring at the ground/sky and it still stays around 10. When I used to play the lowest I would get would be around 20 fps and that was normally just in electro. Arcanehippo 0 Posted February 6, 2015 I also forgot to mention that my textures bug out very badly when my frames do drop.
