Memory Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

After spawning I can play for around 1 minute before the game freezes and I get this error message from Windows...

"The instruction at 0x00512694 referenced memory at 0.00000008. The memory could not be read."

'Click on OK to terminate the program.'

What do you guys think this could be? I'm running the latest versions of DayZ and Epoch from Dayz Commander.

Specs:

Intel i7 4790k Quad Core @ 4.4ghz

Asus Z97-A motherboard

16gb Samsung RAM

EVGA GTX 970 graphics card (runs at 144fps easy)

I don't think it has anything to do with hardware... it's run every other game without fuss until DayZ!

Any help would be appreciated!

J

I'm a little confused by the website - which one do I download? It's all about creating a bootable USB or burning a CD? Sorry I'm a noob!

There are thousands of tutorials out there, better than what I could possibly come up with.

Hi again,

So further to your recommendation I got MemTest and ran it through around 6 hours of testing with no errors at all.

Any other ideas? It's very strange that all of the other games I play work absolutely perfectly. A real shame because DayZ is one of my favourites and my gaming rig is perfect for it.

I read somewhere about someone having completely different issues and someone mentioned running steam as administrator and then validating Arma 2 and Arma OA... should I try that?

Regards,

Josh

Ok so I might have figured it out... I randomly just tried my monitor at 60Hz instead of the maximum 144Hz (it's a 27'' Acer Predator) and the game hasn't frozen as of yet... been playing for 5 mins solidly now. Will let you guys know later when I get more time to play!
